Living in Longgang

Longgang is large, more local, and often better value than central Shenzhen. It can make sense if your work, suppliers, or family needs point east.

Best for

  • eastern Shenzhen supplier access;
  • larger apartments or better value;
  • people with work based in Longgang;
  • families or operators who do not need daily western-city access.

Avoid if

  • your meetings are mostly in Nanshan, Shekou, Bao’an, or Futian;
  • you need easy English-speaking infrastructure;
  • you want a short-term foreigner soft landing;
  • you dislike long cross-city commutes.

Housing style

Longgang has a broad mix of residential communities, local apartments, and newer development. The district is too large for generalizations. Start with your exact destination map.

Hardware relevance

Medium to high for some categories and eastern supplier routes. Not ideal if your hardware work is mainly in Huaqiangbei or western manufacturing areas.
