Luohu is older Shenzhen: border access, established neighborhoods, value pockets, shopping, restaurants, and a more traditional city feel.

Best for

• people who need Luohu border access;
• short stays near older central Shenzhen;
• value seekers who still want central access;
• visitors with meetings around Luohu or Futian;
• people who prefer established neighborhoods over new districts.

Avoid if

• you want the newest compounds;
• you need daily access to Nanshan or western Bao’an;
• you want the strongest international founder environment;
• you dislike older apartments.

Housing style

Luohu has many older apartments. Some are excellent value, but inspection matters. Pay attention to elevators, plumbing, air conditioning, mould, building management, and noise.

Hardware relevance

Medium. Luohu can work for Huaqiangbei access and some sourcing trips, but it is not the default base for modern tech or western manufacturing access.
